Initial Design Using Genetic Algorithm

We have proposed a method for the design of electrical machines by optimizing material distribution using Genetic Algorithm and local search method. Design region is discretized into a finite element mesh and the material of each element is set to a gene in the chromosome. The proposed method is applied to the design of a brushless DC motor. The results are shown in the following figure.
